today was a SUPER long day.
let me make this clear, i like shopping, BUT not shopping with a purpose!
went on a shopping date with mich, lichang and yimei from 11am to 6pm, ALL BECAUSE OF THE DARN GALA DINNER!!!
we were told the dress code was to be formal, but we didnt really know HOW formal till weixun told us that he was going to WEAR A TIE!!
so lichang and i totally freaked out yesterday when we realised we had absolutely nothing suitable to wear!
lucky mich, who has to perform that day, so SHE doesnt have any troubles, whereas yimei has her sister's dress.
oh something that happened on the way to bugis.
i was late already, so was in a hurry and crossed the road before the green man flash, then i heard this angmoh saying quite audibly "silly girl!". -.-
anyway we couldnt find anything at bugis, so went to orchard wisma instead.
chose lots of dresses to try on, some rather obscene la! this is so disgusting, i have a mind not to go to prom when we graduate. SO MUCH UNNECESSARY FUSS over a dinner!
we had difficulties finding a dress that wont slip off lichang lol, but she bought this white dress in the end that was a size too big, though it'll be altered.
we saw this woman trying on a really really LOW cut dress at Forever21 where lichang bought her dress, and it was really really OBSCENE... let's just say that erm, there was plenty of cleavage lol. but mich thinks that the boobs are fake cos that woman has a skinny frame and it's kinda unnatural for a person of her size to be so "feng man" haha
mich preparing for hibernation! hahha
so after we bought our dresses, we went on a hunt for shoes at far east plaza.
SO SORRY to the three cos i led them in the opposite direction =/
but didnt find any thing, such a pity. was kinda xin tong anyway, first time i spent so much money without my mum shopping with me!
yimei wanted to take a pic with the water fountain at ngee ann city lol. she confessed that she loves all types of water fountains
oh and lichang gave us the SHOCK of our lives in the mrt station!
i think it was the peak-hour or something, so there was a lot of people waiting to board the train.
then the blasted mrt doors just closed when people were still trying to squeeze past it!
lichang was halfway into the train while the rest of us were still stuck outside. for a moment we were so damn shocked cos her hand was somehow kiap-ed between the doors but LUCKILY she extracted it in time. thank goodness...
yimei is going to apply her formal letter writing techniques we learnt in LA and write a complaint letter to SMRT hahahhaa.
I showed mum the dress just now. as expected, she's not very pleased cos she thinks it's too matured. well, i actually think so too, i very "bao shou" ok!
feels really unlike me.
parents think it looks a tad ah lian leh.. I DONT WANNA LOOK LIKE AN AH LIAN!!! NOOOO!!
but mich and lichang assure me that it's not.
in a dilemma. seriously contemplating not to turn up. argh.
but mum was having fun la, at me and my sister's expense. she was practically snorting with laughter when we made my sister try on the dress HAHAHA.
someone tell me if it looks ah lian? (poor sister, the unfortunate model)
i seriously dont wanna give people the impression that i am an ahlian!!
nooooo!! i cant let that ruin my innocent and naive reputation!! (JOKING ALRIGHT).
i hate gala dinners / wedding dinners/ ALL FORMAL EVENTS THAT NEED STUPID DRESSES.
