obviously, this morning's post's highlight will be yesterday's gala dinner lol
so here goes!!
1pm - met up with lichang and weixun to go cut our hair
2pm - all done, and weixun had the most drastic, but improved makeover! (spiked hair somemore!!)
then we took a cab to my house, cos mum/dad/auntie/uncle were having their weekly mahjong session and "couldnt" get away.. -.-
we changed into our formal attire and weixun was just doing nothing cos he cant be made up. haha
waited and WAITED for yimei, and we were SOO bored
resorted to playing mahjong and uno with sis.
i declare my sis a DU GUI! she hu 3 consecutives times!! power! hahah
then yimei arrived at 4.30 with her make-up stuff (MASCARA!) and we started fooling around.
i had BAD EXPERIENCES with make-up, ESPECIALLY eye-shadow, during my dancing days in pri school
wont go into details, but let's just say the experience was so horrible that it made me fearful of all types of eye-shadow ever since
so we spent more than half and hour in the toilet experimenting and trying our best not to look like gothics while weixun and my sis sat outside being bored to death haha
did i mention weixun wore a pink shirt with a red tie? hahaha
he's so skinny that even the smallest size in G2000 is still a tad big for him la

weixun's parents picked us up at 6, and we had a teeny bit of trouble getting into the car cos it was rather high and dresses are super inconvenient... i love my fbts. versatile and comfy!
while waiting, we had a HUGE SCARE by jiayi!
she called lichang and said that she and gang(charlotte, jeen, val) were there already, and that we were overdressed, cos she saw students wearing school uniform!!!
we were totally freaked out, and on the verge of strangling weixun cos he was the one who told us we had to wear dresses
thankfully, it turned out that those students were probably the sec4 dhp students who were sponsored with free seats -.-
but still, that didnt help the fact that we were stared at by all shoppers when we had to walk through suntec mall to get to the ballroom..
at that moment i really wished i could burrow into a hole and hide in there, but only before i murder weixun!
did i mention that weixun's mum's hair was super nice?! it was, really, but no pics
we saw plenty of teachers at the reception, but hurried off to our table lest we meet more people we know
there were like, 4 metal detectors we had to go through, with police at the entrance. kinda exaggerating...
our table was NO. 5! and a really good spot, cos it's just right beside the stage, and pretty close to the VVIP table

OFFICIAL START OF THE GALA DINNER
PM LEE entered, with the lion dance outside to huan ying him lol
thus started the very very long speeches by the principal, PM lee and others..
it was yesterday that i saw HOW TALL pm lee really is. he's like, a head above mr sng
and i noticed that he speaks chinese FUNNY
e.g, he said DU instead of 都
he probably received an english education, thus the accent
and i suppose i was right, cos he sounded much more at ease and fluent when he talked in english
several chefs that came out carrying a HUGE birthday cake and we all sang a birthday song lol
dinner was sorta delayed i think, so people had time to mingle around and take pics and everything
so that gave us plenty of time and opportunities to cam-whore

first course of dinner ( 7 courses in total)
the first dish was quite nice, espeically the prawns and the pineapple!
weixun suaned me, saying "come to gala to eat pineapple?"
and the rest all laughed at me -.-
WHAT LA! there's nothing wrong with liking pineapple alright!
i was really fascinated by this flower decoration. i told yimei it was made of carrot, but she said it was just a fake flower
charlotte proved her wrong by smelling it and confirming that it WAS made of carrot!
it's a work of art!
but upon dissecting the flower, i found out it was actually made of four segments, held together by 2 toothpicks
but nevertheless it's still a work of art! lol
but it doesnt taste nice..
there were performances by the String Ensemble, Chinese Dance, Symphonic Band, Chinese Orchestra, singing of the 50th anniversary song respectively
i liked the YMCA by SE the best!
it never fails to remind me of william hung lol
our table was just right outside the entrance where the performers come out from, so managed to get some pics, tho they were pretty blurred.
